It had always amused Jaz that the Cardiff office was underground. Sure, they'd expanded to a couple buildings topside, but apparently Mum had discussed things with Alex and they'd decided it was better to keep the majority of the storage and office space in the old secret base. It was just a monitoring and research station, small staff, no need for more space, and anyway, it'd be a pain in the arse to lug everything topside, according to Alex.

One look in the archives, and Jaz had agreed emphatically. She had begged Alex to requisition backup for her, at least for a couple of weeks, specifically Peter's assistant since he was really good at this sort of thing, but Alex just laughed and said her mum had told him she'd ask, and that the answer was no. "It'll build character, she said," Alex had told her with a pat on the back. "I don't know about that, but it desperately needs doing."

Over the past few weeks, she'd become intimately acquainted with the archives, if not the rest of Cardiff, and was on good terms with most of the morning shift at the coffee shop between her flat and the Hub. No one in the Cardiff office could make a decent pot of coffee, and while she couldn't match Ianto's coffee by a mile (and oh how she envied Peter for getting to enjoy it every day), she could at least ensure that no one had to drink that muddy water they'd been drinking before she came. So every morning, she stopped for coffee, and she made sure to keep the pot full throughout the day.

As she stepped on the lift, the script Rhys and Peter had help her program into her vortex manipulator ran automatically, activating the lift so that she could balance the ten cups of coffee she was expertly juggling.

"Oi, you lot, come get your... coffee." Jaz trailed off as she reached the bottom and stepped off the lift and looked around at the... utterly foreign layout of the hub, apparently empty of any employees. "What the bloody hell. ALEX!"

Tosh was just coming up from the archives when she heard an unfamiliar voice shouting. At this time of day, she was normally the only person around - and, to be honest, she rather liked the peace and quiet of the Hub before her teammates turned up. It reminded her of the days when it had just been her and Jack. None of this, however, served to explain why there was a girl with coffee on the lift.

"Who're you?" she demanded, setting the pile of folders down on her desk with an intimidating-sounding (or so she hoped) thump. "How did you get in here?"

...well, at least most invaders with malicious intent didn't typically bring coffee with them.

"The lift's invisible," Tosh points out logically - well, sort of logically, considering that she's talking about riding an invisible lift in the first place. Never mind that the girl is standing right by it, which makes the question more rhetorical than anything else-

"And," she continues, "Ianto's in charge of the Archives. We haven't got anybody else working there - it's just the five of us here."

...Tosh certainly isn't darting glances at the cups of coffee. Nope. It might be poisoned coffee, after all, and therefore Owen would have to run a check on it first (probably by drinking it, knowing him).
